New Release: Akira Mizuno: Layers of Vision | Layers of Painting - Collection of Works

This is not just a "painting," but an adventure in perception!? Welcome to a world of realism that stirs the senses of the viewer. The definitive collection of works by painter Akira Mizuno is finally complete, encompassing new works and representative pieces!

Based in Higashiagatsuma, Gunma Prefecture, painter Akira Mizuno (1974- ) continues to confront the world. With a meticulous eye for realistic observation, Mizuno has received high praise both domestically and internationally for his works that go beyond mere "reproduction." The changing seasons, the tension of light and shadow, even the rustling of the wind, are layered upon the canvas, crystallizing as aesthetic composition and a questioning of existence.

This collection of works is a definitive edition that condenses the trajectory of creation over approximately 10 years since 2014. It includes still-life paintings that capture the moment of "life" on the screen, a series of works that have continued to capture the ever-changing forms of motifs, the "Mother" series that observed the death of his mother, and even an unfinished new work that challenges the surface of Lake Haruna, which he has been working on since 2022, delving into the artist's inner world and the creative process.

As you turn the pages, you will not "see" the landscape, but "live" it. This book will be a provocation, a gift, and an eternal record for everyone who loves art.
